Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actor. Also, she sings. Sara Ramirez was raised by an American mother, and was subjected to a variety of racist taunts that caused her to feel uncomfortable. After she participated in a school competition and received great praise for her performance at the age of 9, the girl began to gain confidence. She not only gained confidence from the experience however, she also re-evaluate her plans for her career. At the age of 22, she was able to graduate from the Julliard School of New York. She began her career when she was 23 years old, appearing in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and You've Got Mail in film. However her greatest breakthrough came when she appeared in the role in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway performance of Spamalot garnering not only an award called the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. In the year following, she appeared on the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider recognition for it. Known as a singer she released her own single and an extended show. Also, she's been an advocate for LGBT concerns.
