Lita Rossana Ford, also called Lita Ford is an American guitar player and singer who was born in the UK. She was the lead guitarist as a member of The Runaways, a hard-rock group made up of girls in late 1970s. Their punk rock music and provocative lyrics helped them get noticed by the rock community. The band didn't have any fans in the United States. However, their fame grew internationally especially in Japan. Ford's solo heavy metal career was successful after the 1979 split of the band. She began to take voice lessons before releasing her debut album "Out to Blood", followed by "Dancin" in the Edge. Her albums weren't very well-received and she stayed away for several years. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' was released in the year 1989. Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were two of her biggest songs. The success of her was not long-lasting and, for a few years after, she went under the radar. She re-emerged with the release of 'Black in 1995. Then she released 'Wicked wonderland' nearly 15 years after. The year was 2016, and her latest album'Time Capsule' was made available. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
